Common Chickweed
Stellaria media

• Family: Pink
• Flower: 5 deeply cleft petals (seem to be 10),
• Leaves: entire, opposite; upper leaves clasping stem, lower on short hairy stalks
• Size: Flowers .25" across; plant 3-8" high in bloom
• Habitat: Roadsides, open fields
• Blooms: April-Oct.

Often grows in thick, low-lying, and densly spreading mats.
