  • Flower: Tiny White flowers in dense umbels, 5 petals, reddish-brown anthers
  • Leaves: usually one or two, alternate, divided into narrow segments.
  • Size: Flower heads 1/2" across; plant 2-6" high in bloom
  • Habitat: Open woods
  • Blooms: March

One of the very earliest spring flowers. The stem is thick and reddish; leaves are not always evident when blooming.
